Filling the Nursing Gap

Created to increase the number of prepared nurses in North Carolina, the RIBN program is a partnership between community colleges and universities in western North Carolina that dually enrolls students in a seamless four-year nursing curriculum. The program hopes to fill the nursing shortage in North Carolina by quickly training a much-needed workforce to meet the needs of a growing population.

RIBN is coordinated by the Foundation for Nursing Excellence with financial support from The Duke Endowment, the Jonas Center for Nursing Excellence, The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the NC Area Health Education Centers.
